Sauble Park Beach Operational Strategy

South Sauble Beach is one of Saugeen First Nation’s greatest treasures. Not only is it one of the most beautiful beaches in Ontario, it also holds immense value for the community with respect to social, cultural and environmental well-being. In recent history, Sauble Park South has been discovered by the masses, resulting in operational challenges due to the disrespect that outside visitors show the beach. CES worked with the community to identify solutions to these challenges resulting in 3 pillars of action: restricting vehicular access, user services and spin off opportunities and environmental stewardship.

The Operational Strategy was based upon the insights of community members and leadership gathered during the engagement process and provided recommendations for sustainable beach management. Preserving the Beach for future generations while establishing a revenue model that benefits the local community were key elements of the Strategy.
