ITAC’s National Guidelines for Authenticity & Indigenous Tourism Accreditation Program

CES was hired by Tourism HR Canada and the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) to assist in the development of nation-wide Indigenous tourism standards recognition program. This program will support Indigenous operators in increasing their market readiness and growing their businesses to answer to the increasing demand for authentic Indigenous experiences. The project involved a pan-Canadian stakeholder and community engagement process to guide the development of the new guidelines and recognition framework. A plenary presentation as well as a workshop at the International Indigenous Tourism Conference, engaging with Indigenous tourism businesses and leaders from across the country as well as international experts on tourism standards and recognition were all components of this project.

CES also assisted our clients in launching a national awareness campaign which braded the project as RISE, Recognizing Canada’s Best Indigenous Tourism Experiences.
