Point Grondine Eco Resort & Campground Business Plan

The Point Grondine Eco Resort & Campground provides a viable economic opportunity for the Wikwemikong Development Commission. In 2014, CES assisted the Wikwimikong Development Commission in developing Point Grondine’s Business Plan which is based on developing an innovative, unique eco-friendly destination that will attract international attention while staying true to being authentic with First Nations’ values and traditional knowledge. In 2019, CES updated the Business Plan to reflect current opportunities for Indigenous tourism product development and marketing. In addition, this opportunity will build local capacity, create new job opportunities, instil community pride, preserve Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve’s culture, and protect the environment for future generations.

The Vision:

To develop a First Nations owned and operated Eco Resort & Campground where traditional Anishnaabek culture meets a peaceful eco-retreat in one of Ontario’s most spectacular regions. With its diverse accommodations, cultural programming, backcountry accessibility and soft adventure activities, Point Grondine Eco Resort & Campground will become a true destination of choice for visitors throughout the region and beyond.
