Enoch Cree Nation – Traditional Grounds & Interpretive Area and Cree Cultural Village

It is incredible what Enoch Cree Nation has accomplished within the short timeframe since being chosen as a pilot project for Indigenous Services Canada’s Strategic Partnership Initiative (SPI). As a result of the community tourism visioning process which took place in Phase 1 of the SPI project, Enoch has already formed and held several meetings with their Cultural Tourism Committee (CTC) ensuring tourism development in the community is guided by their people. Enoch Cree Nation has a vision for pursuing tourism to first and foremost honour their traditions and their people to create new opportunities for cultural enrichment and socio-economic development. With this vision as its guiding force, Enoch will establish 2 very special places that together will work in harmony to respectfully welcome visitors to the community.

CES has had the honour of being involved in this entire process, supporting Enoch as it brings its tourism vision to reality. CES has co-facilitated the visioning session and CTC meetings, developed Enoch’s Product Development Plan, and launched a stakeholder engagement strategy which amongst other activities includes a Digital Sharing Circle for individuals to shar their thoughts and ideas for cultural tourism development in Enoch.
